Wedding photography FAQs

“It’s pretty easy. Just say “I do” whenever anyone asks you a question”

— Carrie to Charles, Four Weddings And A Funeral

I.

Where are you based?

I am a London-based wedding photographer, and live in Richmond, South-West London.  I photograph weddings in London, the UK, and have shot destination weddings abroad

II.

How long have you been a wedding photographer?

I have been photographing beautiful weddings since 2013, and am very experienced as a professional photographer

III.

How do we book you?

IV.

Do we feed you on the wedding day?

Wedding caterers often very kindly provide food for your photographer on your wedding day as part of their arrangement with you.  If I need to make other arrangements for the day, let me know

V.

What is your approach to wedding photography?

I am known for my candid documentary photography style, and I capture your wedding day as it naturally evolves. I will typically always do some structured couple shots and group shots of friends and family.  On your wedding day I am discreet and unobtrusive, I am good at putting you at ease; and I am polite and friendly

VI.

When will you arrive and leave on the day?

The core wedding photography package is based on ~10 hours’ coverage, which typically will see me shoot from you getting ready, through to just after first dance.  You are able to book me to shoot for longer if required.  See my pricing here

VII.

How much is your wedding photography?

The core wedding photography package is £2,500, but what you will pay will depend on a few things.  See my pricing here and get in touch here for a personalised quote

VIII.

Do you offer any discounts?

Some things that could make your wedding photography cheaper include weekday weddings; late bookings where I have availability; micro weddings and elopements; and fewer hours coverage during the day

IX.

When will we receive our pictures after the wedding?

You will receive your images typically 4 weeks after your wedding, although this can vary depending on my booking density at the time of your wedding.  Please ask me for up to date guidance on this at the time of your wedding

X.

How many pictures will we receive?

You will receive at least 200 (typically more) high resolution fully edited digital photographs, that will be a mixture of colour and black and white pictures, with the license to use and print them as you wish.  I also offer albums and prints additionally to my core package

XI.

Can we get a wedding album?

Yes.  I design beautiful wedding albums, and can arrange prints from your wedding day.  Let me know if you’d like me to quote for this

XII.

Do you offer engagement shoots?

Yes.  There are a number of benefits to doing an engagement shoot with your wedding photographer, including getting more relaxed with your photographer ahead of your wedding day, practicing your wedding photo poses, figuring out what types of pictures you want from your photographer on your wedding day, and even using them for your invites.  Take a look at some of the pre-wedding shoots I’ve done with couples

XIII.

What if it rains on our wedding day?

It can happen … but don’t let it ruin your wedding day.  I am very experienced at photographing weddings in the UK, and will work with you to find a really good plan B for couple or group shots that are affected by the weather.  If it is something that makes you nervous, there are some excellent rain-proof wedding venues in the UK, like the Barbican Conservatory

XIV.

What happens if you are ill on our wedding day?

I have made every wedding I’ve been booked for in my 10 years of doing wedding photography, and am very “come hell or high water” in my attitude about this.  If this ever were to happen, I’d communicate with you early, and I have a really good network of other wedding photographers I can draw from to find a replacement for you that you’ll be happy with

XV.

What if your equipment fails?

Photography equipment is thankfully extremely reliable; I have never had a camera equipment issue in 10 years of doing wedding photography.  I mitigate this risk by photographing with two cameras; using 2 memory cards in my cameras; and keep my kit in good working order

XVI.

Do you have insurance?

Yes.  I have public liability coverage - just ask if your venue requires a copy of my insurance certificate

XVII.

How do we secure you for our wedding date?

To secure your wedding date with me, I require a £500 booking deposit

XVIII.

But I have another question you haven’t answered
